Jerry and Blair weren’t sure if winter time would ever end.
- They had so much terrible weather this year that they were afraid they wouldn’t have the old furnace replaced before another winter began.
Then one afternoon, Jerry and Blair woke up to doves singing, and sun glistening off the snow. They checked the weather report, and they were talking about temperatures in the fifties for the entire week, and soon it was going to be in the sixties. Jerry and Blair knew the snow was going to be melting, but they weren’t turning the furnace off. That didn’t mean they wouldn’t check out the cost of new furnaces for the next winter. The two of them looked at all the furnaces online and picked the one they wanted. Next, they contacted the Heating and A/C company and put in a tentative order for the new furnace. When winter time was finally over, Jerry and Blair called the Heating and A/C company and asked them to deliver their furnace and install it. No one knew what they were talking about. Jerry and Blair told them they had ordered the furnace late this Spring. They said they had no existing copy of the order and asked if they had ordered it from them. Jerry and Blair could not believe what they were hearing. They ordered a furnace, but the Heating and A/C company didn’t know they put in the order. Jerry explained they had put in a tentative order 2 months earlier, but they had never sent them a check to spend money for it. It surprised Jerry when Blair sided with the Heating and A/C company, but he soon realized she was right.
